Steps to Membership

Three women are standing next to each other. the middle woman is holding her DAR membership certificate. She was just installed as a new member of our chapter and of DAR.
  • Gather your family history information to identify an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence between April 19, 1775 (Battle of Lexington), and November 26, 1783 (withdrawal of British Troops from New York).
  • Work on and complete an application.

If you are interested in membership, please contact our membership team. To prepare for your meeting with our membership team, please review this How to Join webpage provided by the National Society. If you are comfortable, feel free to continue on to the Genealogy webpage and work on the provided Pedigree Chart.

To assist in your research, the DAR Ancestor Search database lists ancestors on whom members of the National Society have joined. This listing is continually updated as new membership applications and supplemental applications are approved.

If you’re unsure where to start or haven’t researched your genealogy yet, we’re here to help. Our chapter has an active membership team ready to assist with research, documentation, application paperwork, and introductions to our members and activities. We look forward to hearing from you!
