Carbon Valley Chapter, NSDAR, History

The organization of the Carbon Valley Chapter, NSDAR, began in 2016. Several women began working together to create a new chapter in the  tri-town areas of Dacono, Firestone, Frederick, and Mead, Colorado including a past Colorado state regent, an organizing secretary, organizing chapter regent, and others. The first planning meeting was held in August 2016 and a genealogical workshop was held in October 2016 at the Carbon Valley Library in Firestone, Colorado. On April 1, 2017, the chapter held its organizing meeting at the Carbon Valley Library in Firestone with 13 members and several guests. The National Board of Management confirmed the chapter on April 5, 2017. The  organizing chapter regent worked with  U.S. Senator Cory Gardner from Colorado to have a United States flag flown over our national capitol on April 5, 2017, in honor of this confirmation. A special gavel was created by a local veteran which was presented it to the chapter at the organizing meeting.
